Day 7 of Cambodia Run 2019

Today was the shortest day of the week as we ran the Manulife Angkor Wat Half Marathon. It is one of the most inspiring half marathons in the world.

Day 6 of Cambodia Run 2019

Today was a very special day as we were running through many of the villages that Temple Garden Foundation supports in the Chi Kraeng district which is just outside Siem Reap.

Day 5 of Cambodia Run 2019

It was a nice start today as the Salween team arrived early to take some video footage, and support us through the 50KMS day that was in front of us.

Day 4 of Cambodia Run 2019

The morning started well as the weather was much cooler than earlier in the week, so we had a feeling that the day would go well! I was blown away by how stunning the countryside is here in Cambodia.

Day 3 of Cambodia Run 2019

I woke up this morning a bit sore from yesterday, but I looked forward to the day ahead. Day 3 was the first time that we head inland and away from the Mekong.

Day 2 of Cambodia Run 2019

We always knew that today was always going to be the hardest day, and it absolutely lived up to its name.

The run by the Mekong was spectacular, and once again there was no shortage of school children cheering us on our way!

Day 1 of Cambodia Run 2019

This morning, we got up early to meet the Manulife team as well as some journalists to answer some questions about the Cambodia Run. It was great to start this year’s adventure and get running after a lot of hard work in organising the run and its logistics.

Speaking With: Manulife, Supporter of Cambodia Run

Manulife Cambodia plays a paramount role in the success of The Cambodia Run Challenge 2019 by providing support to us. We speak to their representative to learn more about them as well as their involvement in this year’s run.

Speaking With: Jonathan Gordon, Runner of Cambodia Run 2019

“I’ve also been to the charity, Temple Garden Foundation, in Siem Reap with my family. Having seen first hand all the amazing work that TGF does amongst the communities, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to help in some way or another – that was all the motivation I needed.”

Speaking With: Mark Ferguson, Runner & Founder of Cambodia Run

“Rural villagers in Cambodia want the same as everyone else living in developed countries – and this really struck me. They just want to be happy, financially stable, and to be able to offer health, education and opportunities to their children.”
