Press Release – Cross-Country Ultramarathon the Cambodia Run Challenge Raises Over $125,000 to Combat Poverty
The Cambodia Run exceeded its initial goal of $100,000 within weeks from launch and is now working towards its stretch goal of $200,000.
As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect”. Whether it’s your first 5K or your tenth marathon, here are some tips and tricks from Mark, second-time challenger of the 330km Cambodia Run Challenge.
Manulife Cambodia plays a paramount role in the success of The Cambodia Run Challenge 2019 by providing support to us. We speak to their representative to learn more about them as well as their involvement in this year’s run.
“I’ve also been to the charity, Temple Garden Foundation, in Siem Reap with my family. Having seen first hand all the amazing work that TGF does amongst the communities, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to help in some way or another – that was all the motivation I needed.”
“Rural villagers in Cambodia want the same as everyone else living in developed countries – and this really struck me. They just want to be happy, financially stable, and to be able to offer health, education and opportunities to their children.”
Despite the pain, the last 500 metres allowed me time to reflect on what has been a memorable and inspiring week where two good friends have pushed our boundaries so that we could raise funds for Temple Garden Foundation. A charity that we are both very passionate about given the incredible work that they do.
